All reviewers giving this adapter 5 stars must have not used other brand. This one is the cheapest for a reason: instead of a spring loaded latch lock like others, it just uses a plastic band holding two loose steel balls to hold bit. You have to push very hard to overcome the plastic band tension inserting bit. I have to push the bit against a hard surface to get it in. It is even harder pulling it out. I have to use a pair of pliers to remove the bit. You may do it if you have very strong fingers. For me, I would spend 5 more bucks getting a Milwaukee instead. This adapter is going back to Amazon.

Very solid, relatively compact, and makes your impact wrench that much more versatile. Has a sprung ball retainer, so you can use quick-change hex bits. It holds them very solidly, the spring is a steel band on the outside of the ball. Great accessory.

It is a high quality adapter allowing you to use any standard 1/4 inch hex bit on your 1/2 inch drive impact wrench. I use it on my Bosch 14.4V cordless impact wrench. Now I can use my cordless impact wrench as a cordless impact driver.
